The controlMANAGER SV series controllers are process controllers designed for process control, network communications, and device communications. The controllers are configured using an industry standard IEC 1131 based PLC configuration software. They can be configured for use as industrial device gateways, network communications gateways, web servers, data loggers, in addition to programmable logic controllers.
The SV controller improved on the SX design by converting one of the COM ports on the front of the controller into a USB2.0 port to allow USB sticks and external drives to be added to the controller. SV controllers come with (1) RS-232/485 COM port, (1) USB2.0 port, and (1) RJ45 Ethernet port, and can be connected to either a serial or Ethernet wireless radio to communicate with other PLC controllers or with SCADA, DCS, or HMI systems. The SV PLC controllers are the same physical size as the ioWARE IO Modules, and the controllers can be installed directly next to the IO on a DIN rail, or mounted at a remote location, since remote IO is a built-in feature. A system backplane is not required. All modules snap into a standard DIN rail, then communicate over twisted 2-pair cable provided.
This latest design has data logging supported with 256 MB of on-board RAM and a USB 2.0 port for data logging to a USB key. If ordered with the data logging feature, we also provide an automated file transfer software tool that can transfer the data in CSV format over a TCP/IP Ethernet network.
